Tobacco Growers Unite against Plain Packaging

It is a "disproportionate, restrictive, and inefficient anti-tobacco measure", they claim.

Concerned about the pressure exerted by some countries for its implementation, tobacco growers believe that plain packaging jeopardizes a legal crop that ensures the livelihood and way of life of many rural families around the world.  Tobacco growing is labor intensive, because harvesting the crop is done manually in most countries, thus ensuring the continued existence of a rural population, which would otherwise be impossible.
