Monago met with Altadis CEO Juan Arrizabalaga and Corporate Affairs manager Rocío Ingelmo, who explained the evolution of Altadis' tobacco purchases in Extremadura over the past few years, as well as plans to "support regional tobacco farms and agriculture in the future", according to Arrizabalaga.  After the meeting, also attended by the secretary of Agriculture Mr. José Antonio Echávarri, the government of Extremadura indicated in a press release that Compañía Española de Tabaco en Rama S.A. (Cetarsa) is Altadis' largest tobacco supplier, selling to this company over 50 percent of total production.  Mr. Arrizabalaga added that Altadis purchased an average of 15,000 tons annually from Cetarsa in the period 2008 - 2012, and will continue to purchase a similar or even larger quantity in the future.
